Moldovan President Igor Dodon was involved in a car crash near the city of Straseni, north of the capital Chisinau, three days ago.
It appears that a lorry was overtaking another car when the accident happened. The President's car, reportedly, flipped over several times.
Although taken to hospital as a precaution, the President did not sustain any serious injuries. His mother and one of his sons were injured but are now in a satisfactory condition.
Presidential adviser Maxim Lebedinschi said that the other vehicle hadn't respected traffic rules, and that more information would be forthcoming.
Dodon won the presidency in 2016 after beating a pro-European rival.
